Surfboards

Painting on traditional canvases can be great (especially large format!), but lately I’ve branched out into more adventurous mediums. And since we live in a little surfing village in Hawaii, surfboards are a natural fit.

I also enjoy custom projects if you’re interested.

Canvas and Wood Paintings

It’s not all surfboards around here — I pour on a variety of other surfaces, from canvas to wood to metal and beyond.

Some of the pieces you see below have appeared in exhibits, some were custom-made for specific individuals or organizations, and some hang in the homes of patrons, customers, family, and friends.

KITCHEN & HOUSEHOLD

One of the best things about art is that basically every item in our day-to-day lives is ripe for experimentation if you’re looking at the world through curious eyes.

Among my most popular items in recent years have been custom-made, hand-carved, real wood cutting/charcuterie boards and serving trays. I also make lazy susans, drinking glasses, and wine tumblers.

FROM THE ARCHIVES: READY-FIRE-AIM

Back in October 2018 I was the featured artist of the month at Intrepid Sojourner in Denver.

For that occasion I came up with a series called 'READY-FIRE-AIM’, which is a reference to how I live my life most days. (There are pros and cons.) The majority of that work was created on our back patio, in a fever of inspiration, in just a few short days and nights.
